Brief

Design, build and test a fully operational time machine, a working model or prototype. Your time machine may have the ability to travel to the past, future, or perhaps even parallel time streams.

* Not necessarily required to go beyond the known laws of physics, but concerned with the ways in which you apply and test your intervention.

Questions to be answered:

How does it work? What does it do? What is its appeal? What will users and other stakeholders have to say about it? Does your machine have commercial possibilities? Will it offend/threaten/excite/please any powerful stakeholders? Might further developments be made to it? What What is a Time Machine?

Once you have a working time machine, its existence will generate many new questions.

Time Machine Prototype

The project's volunteers

Experiment

Three candidates were, for the next couple of days, in a pitch black room isolated from time indicators (clocks and sunlight exposure), visual and sound stimulation, communication to each other and any other external factors.

Candidates were videotaped through infrared cameras and each of them had a portable recorder to document and record a reflective diary about their various perceptions and time estimates.

Testing Criteria

- Ability to shut down the time machine and become as mind elusive as kids;

- Understand the natural clock inside of each of the participants and their own esteem of time passage;

- Perceptions of activities, nuances and feelings in relation to the controlled environment.
