"Nosotras" transcends being just a typeface; it embodies a collective amalgamation of ideas, perspectives, and identities. It stands as a manifesto, amplifying the voices of women.
"Nosotras!" represents the campaign for Women's Month at Centro Cultural Recoleta, in which I had the privilege to participate. This campaign materialized through a participatory and collaborative process involving the community. The words comprising it emerged from 50 virtual conversations organized by the cultural center, involving over 1,000 women from various age groups and regions across Argentina.
My role was to harness the power of letters, giving those words a voice. There were no drawings or illustrations, only the bold black and white words functioning as a feminist banner, a declaration of who we are, our identity, and our ongoing struggle. Beyond our differences, this mural challenges women and all those who have fought for something.
My intention was to emphasize that we encompass the entire spectrum of states and situations represented by the words, and I aimed to create a clear format allowing the content to emerge with its full force, unpretentious and devoid of industrial elements.
