The three rabbits are holding a lotus flower in their hands. Lotus flower is one of the four auspicious flowers in Buddhism and one of the eight treasures, which also symbolizes good luck.

Draw from the Dunhuang good luck rabbit with reference to the headdress of the characters depicted in the frescoes of Dunhuang's flourishing period (Sui and Tang)
Rabbit sat on the lotus meditating and praying for good luck. Part of the headdress was painted with lotus crown and moire crown decoration, and Mani beads symbolizing light, cleanliness and dirt free were painted on the leaf branches.
