Modern eaters often struggle to find a place to eat when they visit a new town and don’t really know their way around. ULTA helps to choose a place that suits for users quick and easy with pre-prepared selections by integrated AI.

Challenge
Create a mobile application UI design with a thoughtful new visual concept and UX functionality so that users can find a place for their goals with the least time.

Target Audience
People for whom going to restaurants and cafes is a regular part of leisure time and who have certain preferences for things like lighting and music at those places. Often, they are travelers with above-average income.

Location
4 fashionable cities: Amsterdam, Paris, Istanbul and Tallinn.

01.Research
Competitive advantages

For modern eaters
All places on our app are selected and curated by an editorial team of experts: who write detailed descriptions for each restaurant, providing insights and recommendations for the ultimate dining experience.

AI powered
AI and algorithms that consider over a dozen user preferences, such as lighting, interior style, and noise level, to recommend places that best suit their tastes and needs.

Easy to use
The app has location services, themed selections (specialty coffee houses, casual places, business dinner, vegan etc.), important filters (dog friendly, breakfast, terrace, etc.)

User Personas
Based on the characteristics of the target audience, they made up a user persona
02. Idiation &Prototyping
User flow
We tried to take into account all the wishes of the customer with the condition that the user will be able to solve their task of finding a right place simply and quickly. Userflow is consistent based on the study of users' pains, their needs. The script also provides for user registration.
Prototype
The prototype helped to present the idea to the customer, to show the main user flow for solving the problem.

03. UI-design
Color
We strived to make a modern and understandable application. The style concept is based on minimalism in typography, elements and bright accents in individual details.

The graphic content of the application conveys mood and emotions through people, the interior of the establishment, and lighting.

04. Application
Start
Welcome screen invites the user to start. We use an atmospheric photo to show the mood of the application.

Geoposition
The location is determined automatically, but it is also possible to define manually.

Category
To get a selection user needs to choose a category. we made cards of the categories so that it was possible to put horizontal and vertical photos on the background.

List & Map
User can scroll the screen or go to the map and see the nearest places.
The floating button for switching is located under the thumb and doesn’t block the content

Filters
The places in the listing are selected by main filters. It’s determine the mood of the place, for example, for work or family holidays. Additional filters help to customize the list more individually.
After filtering selected filters appears in the listing so that users always can see them.

Place card
Place card contains the necessary information about the place, links to the website and social networks. User can build a route to a place some ways like on foot, by bike or car. There is an opportunity to leave feedback for developers about this place

Also user can get route on the map screen. Just select a place icon on the map, view a preview of the place card (view photos, save and share with friends) and tap Get route.
Other screens
In addition to the main flow, we have developed Registration, Profile, Feedback and Saved screens with different states for login and unlogin users. We have separately thought out brand phrases that give uniqueness to the app.
