Rebellion Never Gets Old

For our final project in Yearbook II, we had to create a concept for a potential yearbook theme that could be used for the next year. Inspired by teen icon Miley Cyrus, I created a chronological yearbook theme divided by seasons. The theme, I think, encompasses what it means to be a teenager in the modern world where facing tough issues is usually dealt with harsh confrontation and a lot of sass.

Above is the cover with a bright pink Bangerz-esque neon sign displaying the title "Rebellion Never Gets Old." The sign is set against a kitten-patterned print directly taken from a costume Miley actually wore on her Bangerz Tour.
The title page shows the neon sign turned off with the lights back on, along with the school's information.
The theme pages contain the title again along with a story explaining (per Lorem Ipsum) what rebellion means to teenagers and how being a part of the teen-age brings certain requirements and standards.
The Autumn Divider was inspired by the "We Can't Stop" single album artwork.
The Spring Divider was inspired by one of the sets for Miley's Bangerz Tour in which the stage was decorated in giant balloon letters spelling out "Bangerz."
The above is a Spring spread concept that reflexes the design of the theme pages. If you notice, the page is centered around the LGBT population. Presumably, the page would deal with what it means to be gay in such a conservative setting and how the little quaint town of Marble Falls in fact breaks some stereotypes when it comes to both the "small town" cliche and the flaming gay.
