UNICEF: FRONTERA PERÚ - CHILE

Texto de la fotógrafa. Families with children and adolescents are stranded on the border between Peru and Chile for almost a month. Without a balanced diet,  water, and access to basic services, hundreds of people of Ecuadorian, Haitian, Venezuelan, and Colombian nationality, among others, survive the extreme climate of the Atacama desert while waiting for a solution from the governments to regularize their immigration status.
For parents, a nightmare, for children, "an adventure" - mentions Ozuna, Susek's father. Like her, the other children of the camp spend their days in the desert looking for new friends to play with.

Whether it's playing in the kitchen, hiding in a tent, or having a race in the sand, the children show another face to the situation at the border. The role of parents becomes fundamental and of companionship, where day by day families exchange their experiences, sadness, and joy.

This project seeks to highlight the most human, innocent, and hopeful side of a migrant camp amid a situation of vulnerability and social exclusion, to show the family and home as a link that crosses borders.
