Objective:
The goal of this project was to interpret a personally selected portion of the movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, through predominantly typographic expression.
Statement of Purpose:
This book was created in an attempt to illustrate what I feel is the turning point of the movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Clementine discovers a way to hide her memories from the 'Eraser Guys,' and Joel takes her to a place in his childhood, specifically a childhood recollection of hiding under a table at age 4. My visual representation of this is intended to exhibit the surreal nature of these scenes and the typographic treatment in particular is designed to represent the many facets of the human brain. Also apparent is an underlying theme of the love and connectivity, or lack thereof, that Joel and Clementine share in the midst of these scenes.
