As a side project of my degree work, Monumentum, which is mostly based on documenting existing monuments, I started to think about the other side, building monuments from my perspective. Although this idea requires a totally opposite approach, it comes from the same phenomenon. It’s more about a philosophic and accurate process of playing with symbols in an isolated world. These memorials only works on the photo, untill the time of the exposure lasts, and only from the angle of obejctive. The memorial is the subject of the image and the image also a memorial itself.
Tavaly – készülő diplomamunkám mellékszálaként – emlékművek létrehozásával kezdtem foglalkozni. Ez az ötlet, bár szorosan kapcsolódik diplomatémámhoz, teljesen ellentétes hozzáállást és gondolkodásmódot igényelt. Hiszen míg diplomámban már meglévő emlékműveket fényképeztem, addíg itt létrehozni is nekem kellett őket. Az emlékműállítás úgy gondolom egy rendkívűl összetett és felelőségteljes szellemi munka, főleg ha fotografikus úton szeretnénk megvalósítani. A kép esetében minden egyes elem szerepe lényeges, ugyannakkor könnyítés lehet, hogy az emlékműnek csak a fényképezőgép szemszögéből, és csak az expozíció idejéig kell „működnie”.
