Mask of Hope is a two part animated film I created with Distillery studio for the World Food Organisation (WFP) end of year appeal campaign. Since the start of the global pandemic face masks have become a symbol of our times.
The design brief I took on was to incorporate face mask with hand drawn frame animations to create a story around the harsh realities facing people in countries of conflict and COVID-19. The two short animated film are themed around hunger and conflict.
I created the storyboards for both films based on photos provided by WFP. These photos make up the key scenes which focused on the the harsh life children faced in countries of conflict. Frame animation is done in 12 FPS in hand drawn style.
