The brief was to create a fearless brand identity & experience for the first Microbrewery endorsed by Carlsberg. Continue their long legacy of pioneering innovation.
By continuing the spirit of J.C.Jacobson’s golden words ‘to develop the art of making beer to the greatest possible degree of perfection', Carlsberg microbrewery 'Håndverk Brewing Studio' is introduced as a brand that reflects the brewers' passion and craft for beer and the attitude of a microbrewery (brewing flexibility and experimentation that allows brewers to unleash their creativity, limited quantity and good customer service). The studio is all about producing the most premium, limited and finest handcrafted beers. Every brewing process is entirely produced by the hands of skillfull master brewers to ensure the finest and perfect beers are served.
To embrace the art of brewing, the identity developed from the idea of arts and crafts - the skill in making things by hand. Materials used by craftsmen (wood, glass, clay, steel, craft paper) inspired the design of Håndverk products and print items. Customized runic typeface and Scandinavian elements across the identity reflected the root of Carlsberg - Denmark.
