Bookmark and dyptich design for a christening event

On April, I was asked to design a bookmark for the christening of a baby called Eva. Excited with the idea, I decided to go a bit further: in addition to the bookmark, I suggested to design an envelope for it and create decoration for the banquet table as well. The client accepted happily, and that marked the beginning of the most fun and satisfying project I've done to date, in which I mixed drawing with crayons on paper and digital design and editing!
As I explain briefly on the image below, we wanted the bookmarks and their visual style to be a surprise for the attendants, but we also wanted to have decoration on the tables during the banquet. I mentioned that I could design it in a different style. At first, we were not very convinced, but I had an idea in mind I felt positive about and started playing around it. Soon, by combining Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, I got two images with puns written on them that the client liked and approved. Obstacle overcome!
Only the third mockup contains photographs (of the envelopes); I made the rest of them digitally. For the backgrounds, I mostly used scrapped crayon streaks, but also reused plenty of streaks that had made it to the final designs in a way they could only be indentifiable if looked closely.
I hope you liked the project! 💙💜🧡
