The production of this writers' festival booklet truly opened a new love within me for digital illustration - in fact, I started making digital art on my tablet thanks to my love for the outcome of this particular project. As someone who was initially set in their ways of using traditional mediums for art and was nervous and uncertain about how they would fare doing design digitally, this is a monumental change and improvement for the better. I discovered specifically, a love and aptitude for the paintbrush tool in illustrator, having only used the pen tool for previous illustrations in the program (my pen tool style can still be seen i this project as well, with the sunset on the Acknowledgement of Country page, the octopus arms, and the watery hands and pearl).
