The project revolves around an issue of parallelism: "the body" and "the mind" (the carnal life and the subjective one) coexisting under the alteration caused by the influence of time (or the ways in which the form changes through perception and subjectivity, by relating to the image, to the self and to the outside etc.)
The painting is an inexact ilustration of the "flesh", an image of the transformations that are hidden to the eye and that less related to the emotional dimension. Then, a different type of transience steps in - that of the memory, elastic, changeable.
The memory is composed of fragments of the images collected over time from everyday reality, filtered through layers of the emotional and gathered in a hierarchy of images governed by an internal symbolism.Once gathered the ingredients of a moment's perception, they enter a process of re-translation, revision, reinterpretation, up to a point where shape loses its necesity, moving into an informal zone, that the emotional memory later accesses with greater ease and naturalness.
The next two parts of the project, Stage I. First Perception and Stage II. Perception over time are the materialization of these processes - firstly, translating the images and coarse feelings in the language of the inner world of the receiver, then starts the process of corrosion and placing images in an area of emotional language, much simplified in shape, but that includes a vocabulary more nuanced on a subtle level and enriched. Once this vocabulary is assimilated, it enters a different temporal circuit or rather becomes part of the identity of the receiver.
