This project was based on the show 'An Audience With..' but for our brief we had to find a look by a chosen drag performer to inspire our stage designs. I chose to base mine off one of Gottmik's looks from the finale in season 13 of Drag Race. This look features metallic gold ribs and a bejewelled heart over the artists own ribs and heart - I took these shapes, used one as the stage shape and the other to create a grand entrance. 

The brief required a large performance area, a smaller performance area and an interview area for which I used different areas of the heart that were at different levels to create more defined sections. There was also a requirement of two entrances/exits - one of which was at the back of the stage (for Gottmik) and the other at the back of the audience (for the interviewer/host). I also liked the idea of curtains to create a level of grandeur as well as a closeness with the audience as both the stage and the seating are surrounded by them.
