Sometimes there is the need for furniture to shape the space of a room, without necessarily providing much surface area. This table accomplishes that with a surface that seems to be crawling up--or down--the side to create negative space within the frame.
The tabletop has a lengthwise break which is braces by two hand-carved sections with halving joints. Remaining cuts are held by double-rabbet/shiplap, finger, miter, and butt joints, all cut on a table saw. This assignment also gave me experience in using the joiner & planer and in sanding and oiling wood.
