SOCIAL JUSTICE POSTER—STOP OVERFISHING

SOCIAL JUSTICE POSTER—STOP OVERFISHING
Rationale:

Fiscal, societal and climatic repercussions could result due to large scale overfishing. Seafood is a basis of nourishment and employment for many around the globe, however, with greater reason, the seas of the world are under tremendous stress to meet the ever growing demands of seafood both in the emerging economies and as well as in the industrialised nations. With the help of advanced methods and large commercial liners the exploitation of our oceans has become increasingly achievable. Commercial companies are capturing fish rapidly and on a large scale. Oceanic manipulations such as this have resulted in overfishing. Besides this, there are many undisclosed and unlawful fishing activities happening in many parts of the world. All this has left our invaluable marine life predominantly disturbed, (Canada.ca, 2009).

Large scale fishing on the Canadian east coast has resulted in the decline of the big hunting fish species that can put adverse effects on the marine food chain, the new study has revealed. In a whole, its widespread consequences could disturb more than the expected marine supplies. Due to the size of our oceans, it is challenging to comprehensively understand the operation of the marine environment, however, an effective methodology is required for environmental remediation and to reinforce sustainable solutions to reverse the adverse impacts on our precious ocean life,
(Scheffer et al.,2005).
