At Medium2 Studio, our aim is to strike a balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. We endeavor to achieve this goal through our design, HexSlash, with its distinctive hexagonal shape and adaptability to various environments.
HexSlash, as its name suggests, is a hexagonal sofa chair designed with flexibility in mind. This seating solution comes in two versions: a single-seater and an elongated three-seater. Its modularity allows for various combinations and arrangements to suit diverse spatial needs, whether it's a rest area, waiting zone, or a larger communal space such as a lobby.
The idea behind HexSlash stems from a hexagonal prism. Visualize taking a hexagonal prism and cutting it at a slash. This process forms the foundation of our design. The cut side is then manipulated - akin to pushing and pulling fabric - to carve a smooth, curvaceous surface. This sculpted design not only enhances seating comfort but also introduces a softer element to the geometric base. The contrasting visuals of the sofa's geometric frame and organic seating create a unique aesthetic appeal.
Our HexSlash is a blend of geometric precision and organic fluidity, offering comfort without compromising on style. While it's designed for utility, it also seeks to engage with space creatively, marking its presence with elegance and adaptability.
This product is in its conceptual phase, not yet in mass production. We're seeking partnerships with brands or manufacturers interested in realizing this innovative design's market potential.
