I made this digital painting as a university project in Concept Art. The idea behind this was a dystopian and futuristic city in which the people are forced to build provisional houses stacked on top of each other due to poverty and shortage of space. The picture captures the oppressive feeling of this narrow and constricted environment as well as the contrary feeling of sleaziness, freedom and illimitability one may perceive standing on top of a high building, seeing the sunrise and only being limited by the sky itself.
