A Sense Of Place - Abbeystead

BRIEF
A sense of place
Take a place of your choice and through the use of both type and image give the audience an indication of what that place is like.

CONCEPT
I chose my place based on the fact I had visited family there over the
christmas holiday. Deep in the Lancashire countryside we visited the village of Abbeystead. Here is where my project began, taking photos on walks, making little sketches here and there and really getting a feeling for the place.

SOLUTION
I wanted my final outcome to really reflect my time in Abbeystead, I wanted it to show a personal story. I designed a book within a book. On A4 pages i depicted Abbeystead through photographs I had taken, and between these pages, A5 pages detailed my drawings and paintings based on my own observations. These pages are accompanied with handwritten thoughts and details.
