A school spirit citation notepad that I designed for EWU Student Affairs as a student designer. 

Background

EWU administration and staff noticed that a lot of students were wearing fan gear from other universities around campus. Our Dean of Students approached me with the idea for a list-type citation, playfully condemning the lack of school spirit while also serving as a coupon to buy merch from the correct school.

Design Process

I referred to examples of other satirical citation notepads as popularized by Knock Knock. I wrote the copy and played around with the wording until it made semantic and grammatical sense.
I wanted to use visuals to emphasize the tone of the citation, so I did some sketches of our beloved mascot, Swoop. I thought it would be amusing and eye-catching to show Swoop as upset, indignant, or angry. For the final draft, the team settled on a goofy combination of all three emotions.
