The Watch project

In this project I had to take a reference of a watch and create a Vector graphic out of it. My reference (Left) and my Vector graphic (Right) I used illustrator for this project. I gained a better understanding of shapes, colors, shading, and how to find out why a object looks that way.

Sketches

Theses sketches helped me learn how to break down an object into different shapes.

First look

This is a quick break down of my process. I’d start by Looking a the object and seeing how many shapes were being used. Then I would create guides in order to make different shapes. Next I would create the shadows while looking at the reference. Then I would switch to look at the outline. This helped me clean up any left over lines.

You can see the changes. I changed the handle shape. I also added the watch hands and added some shading to the numbers.

I fixed my watch hands and added a little more detail to the handles.
