Spring Flowers of Delhi 🌸
❤️ Semal (Bombax Ceiba) - Large, gaudy and brilliantly red; A common sight in Delhi, the Semal flower bursts forward in spring, splitching the skyline with impossibly bright hues, showering itself generously on cars, thela-walas, parking lots, and unknowning passer-bys.

💜 Kanchnar (Bauhinia Variegata) - Also known as Orchid Tree, since the delicate pastel coloured flowers with complex petals resemble Orchids, the medium sized Kachnar tree offers it’s blossoms during our usual short lived spring.
🧡 Palash (Butea Monosperma) - Rightly named, Flame of the Forest in blossom is a magnet for birds, bees and the searching human eye. The tree’s flowers seem to torch forests with it’s brilliant colour — a flaming, wt orange. A superstar in the spring, it easily upstages everything else in the vicinity.
