Interpretation/First thought
The Pavilion above was inspired by 'Atlas' who carries the sky on his shoulders. The inverse Mushroom head isn't attached to its fulcrum by its perceived central point. The weight distribution is uneven to the eye- and lends to the belief that the pillar is straining to carry the weight of its head. The 'head' can act as a shade for those under it, and at the same time can have multiple people sitting on top of its different layers and looking down.
