This project was a wonderful collaboration with an old friend from the post-production studio Digitrixx, who offered me the opportunity to work on the production of these three CGI spots featuring animation and simulations. My studio, TeapotVFX, was responsible for creating the visual content of the spots, from design to the delivery of rendered 3D animation. The campaign revolved around a butterfly, which serves as the central motif for our client, Kraj food network. The client aimed to promote individual foods such as baked goods, fruits, and milk while incorporating the butterfly element. In the animation, two pastries collide and form a flour butterfly, a fruit transforms into a fruit butterfly, and milk transforms into a milk butterfly, with each composed of corresponding food products.
To bring these animations to life, we utilized 3D scanning technology to digitize real products from Kraj food counters and create realistic 3D models of baked goods and vegetables. Additionally, we crafted virtual 3D models of the butterfly and its surrounding elements, animating them to simulate effects like a cloud of flour, a swirl of fruit, and the collision of two streams of milk.
As the lead artist and supervisor, I was deeply involved in all aspects of the workflow. The talented artists in my studio excelled in 3D modeling, UV creation, retopology, and texture cleanup. My primary responsibilities encompassed direction, animation, simulation, rigging, 3D scanning, as well as lighting and rendering.
Once we completed the 3D animation, the post-production studio Digitrixx took charge of the final compositing and 2D animation of the graphics. This collaboration resulted in a series of stunning 3D animated clips for the Kraj food network, which were launched in 2022.
