Visual Identity - British Museum

Visual Identity. The brief here was to design an identity for national chain, service or organisation. I chose to work on The British Museums identity. Most of London's popular museums have recently undergone big re-brands  (Imperial War Museum, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Museum of London, and the V&A to name a few). All of these new re-brands are exciting and enticing, and make the museums look like interesting places to be. However The British Museum's has remained very subtle and bland, considering the artifacts it holds and the building it puts it's name to are incredible.
 
The main concept here is to bring the museum to life. Making it look as exciting as the artifactes inside, after all history isn't a dull subject. I used beautiful pastel pantones to give the identity an eye catching and exciting look, and designed the logo to have a contemporary style but with traditional asthetics.
