Whispered

THE PROBLEM

We live in a society where talking about sexuality, menstruation and pleasure is still taboo. Natural aspects of our lives become "shameful" or "impure", and can only be discussed between whispers, leading to misinformation, unsafe practices, repression and self-judgement.
THE GOAL

Facilitate access to sexual and menstrual wellness products in a way that alleviates the shame and confusion of buying them.

THE SOLUTION

Normalize sex, pleasure and menstruation by starting conversations, and making products related to this topic accessible to anyone, at any time, without shame.
THE VENDING MACHINE

We decided to use vending machines with a bold, yet discreet packaging and an easy-to-use digital product catalog to avoid the common nervousness of going to a sex shop.

THE PROJECT

This service design project included: naming, branding, type design, packaging design, interactive catalog design, web design and publicity.
THE NAME

We all have something to whisper about. 
Something we dare not say out loud.
We are so many people, so many whispers
That when put together, we create a deafening cry.
We are the cry of all these whispers that demand to be voiced and heard,
without shame.
THE BRAND

The concept for Whispered is the sound of secrets. For the logotype, we created a custom typeface inspired by soundwaves. It also resembles Morse code, indicating a secret communicated in code.

The vibrant color palette contrasts with the name of the brand, visually screaming while the name whispers.
