The concept behind Hive relies on what we call pods.

 

Pods are small devices used to track the electricity of the users home more acuratly. These would ideally be plugged into aproximatly one outlet per room and would allow Hive to access controls to turn off appliences as well as track the energy use of each individually. This will provide users with specific details on how they can automatically consume less energy and  save money.
