Poster Design & Illustration
Inspired by a
Famous Vintage Poster
Vector Graphics II | Ivy Tech Community College
This project was from my Vector Graphics II course at Ivy Tech. The purpose of this project was to recreate a new poster piece with my own illustration that mimics the spirit and essence of the original vintage poster but with new and relevant content to a current world or social issue.

For this project, the term "vintage" refers to a specific period (ie. Mid-Century Modern) and is something that is between 20-99 years in the past (anything 100 years and older is considered "antique").

I chose to do Christian persecution and loss of freedom of speech. I chose this because Christians have been censored on every major platform more than ever now in this day in age. Instead of being burned on stakes, the stakes are replaced by censorship of God's word on digital platforms. Instead, Satan is being glorified more than ever and serving under the banner of "do what thy wilt”, in other words, do what you want. Everyone wants to do what is right in their own eyes. From killing babies before they are born, identifying themselves as everything but what God created them to be, justification for murder, population control, and the list goes on. This encouraged me to search the scriptures for what is going on in the world.

These are the following scriptures that elaborate on what is going on in the World and Christian persecution:

Matthew 24:3-51
Signs of the End of the Age

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

The Abomination of Desolation
“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days!

Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

The Coming of the Son of Man
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree
“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

No One Knows That Day and Hour
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left.  Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Luke 21:7-33
And they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?” And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them. And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.”

Jesus Foretells Wars and Persecution
Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness.

Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.

Jesus Foretells Destruction of Jerusalem
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written. Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people. They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

The Coming of the Son of Man
“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

The Lesson of the Fig Tree
And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Mark 13:13
And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

2 Timothy 3:12
Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

John 15:18-21
If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

Matthew 5:43-44
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

2 Corinthians 12:10
For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Matthew 5:10-12
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you.

1 Peter 4:12-16
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

1 Peter 3:16-17
Having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. It is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.

Romans 8:35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 5:2-16
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Salt and Light
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Revelation 20:4
Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

When designing this project, I will not be reproducing the vintage poster art. Instead, I will be producing new art in the place of the vintage objects, people, places, things, etc. while making certain there is an obvious link between my new approach and the original inspiration poster.

The Technique Requirements

The techniques that must be used for this project in Adobe Illustrator are the following:
- Strong use of shapes created with:
   • The Pen tool
   • The Curve tool
   • Basic shapes and Shape Builder
   • Pathfinder
- Judicial use of gradients
- Excellently managed layers and sublayers (nested layers)
- Proper creation and consistent use of Color Groups
- Customized typography (edited forms, envelope distortions, multiple strokes applied)

   • All typography will need to be copied and then one copy converted to outlines, while the other is hidden or placed out in the pasteboard area
- Gradient Mesh
- And more as needed (3D, Perspective, Patterns, Envelope Distort, Live Paint, etc.)
- Correct-sized artboard based on where your poster design will be posted (this includes both physical environments and social media)

Next, I needed to research, draw 6 sketches, and produce my first draft. They must show evidence of sufficient research for the inspiration and topic I choose. A minimum of 6 thumbnail sketches in proper proportion to the size of the finished piece had to be produced. Alongside the sketches, include examples of the inspiration posters/designs.

The Thoughts and Ideas Behind Sketch 1
I chose the first two images for reference because they were the closest that I could find that best matched how brutally Jesus was beaten for us.

The Roman scourging, also called the flagrum, or flagellum was a horrific word used in the ancient world because of the terrible images that hastily came to mind when a person heard this word.

According to Rick Renner's book 'Paid-in-full', "When a person was sentenced to be scourged, the victim's body was first stripped naked so that the entire flesh would be open to the lashing of the whip. Then, the victim was bound to a two-foot-high scourging post. His hands were tied over his head with a metal ring and his wrist were secured to the ring to restrain his body from movement, and when locked in position, the victim couldn't wiggle or move trying to dodge the lashes that would be laid across his back and across his body. So when a person was scourged they were fixed in a position where they couldn't define themselves, but just stay there and take the beating of the whip.

Romans were professionals at scourging, they took special delight in the fact that they were the best at scourging people. Once the victim was harnessed to the post and stretched over it, the Roman soldiers begin to put them through torture.

One writer notes that 'the mere anticipation of the whip caused the victim's body to grow rigid; it caused the muscles to knot in his stomach; it caused the color to drain from his cheeks, and his lips to draw tight against his teeth as he waited for the first sadistic blow of the whip that would begin to tear his body apart.'"

The Roman Scourge was a short whip made of two or three (ox-hide) thongs, or ropes, connected to a handle. The leather thongs were knotted with a number of small pieces of metal, usually zinc and iron, attached at various intervals. Scourging would quickly remove the skin. According to history, the punishment of a slave was dreadful. There were numerous occasions where the whipping made the skin hang and arteries exposed. The leather was knotted with bones, or heavy indented pieces of bronze. It was considered to be one of the most feared and deadly weapons of the entire Roman world. It was so ghastly, that the mere threat of a scourge could calm a crowd, or bend the will of even the strongest rebel. Even the most hardened criminal recoiled from the idea of being submitted to the beating of a Roman scourge.  It would make the skin swell up instantly with the shard/barb following it and shredding the skin.

According to Renner, "Most often, two tortures were used to carry out the punishment. Simultaneously, they lash the victim from both sides. As the dual whips struck the victim, the leather straps with their sharp jagged object descended and extended over his entire body.

Each piece of metal, wire, bone, or glass cut deeply through the victim's skin and into the flesh, shredding muscles and sinews. Every time the whip pounded across the victim, those straps of leather curled around his torso painfully biting into the flesh of his abdomen and upper chest. Each stroke lacerated the suffer. He tried to thrash about but was unable to move because his wrist was so tied to the metal ring above his head helpless to escape the whip.

Normally, the victim would scream for mercy so that the anguish would come to an end. Every time the torture struck a victim, the straps of leather attached to the wooden handle would cause multiple lashes as the sharp objects at the end of each strength strap sank deep into the flesh and raked across the victim's body.

Then, the torture would jerk hard and jerk back, pulling hard enough to tear out whole pieces of human flesh from the body. The victim's back, stomach, buttocks, back of the legs, upper chest, and face would soon be disfigured by the blows of the whip. Historical records that a victim's back could become so mutilated after a Roman scourge, that his spine would actually be exposed. Others recorded how the bowels of the victim would spill out through the victim's open wounds created by the scourge.

The early church historian Eusebius wrote, 'The veins were laid bare, the very muscles, sinews, and bowels of the victim were open to exposure. With so many blood vessels sliced open by the whip, the victim would being to experience a profuse loss of blood and bodily fluids. The heart would pump harder and harder, struggling to get blood to parts of the body that were bleeding profusely. That it was like pumping water through an open water hydrant. There was nothing to stop the blood from pouring through the victim's open wounds. This loss of blood caused the victim's blood pressure to drop drastically, and because of the massive loss of bodily fluids, he would experience excruciating thirst often fainting from the pain or going into shock, and frequently, the victim's heartbeat would become so irregular that he would go into cardiac arrest.'

According to Jewish law, the Jews were permitted to give 40 lashes to a victim, but because the 4oth lash proved to be fatal, the Jews would only give 39.

Deuteronomy 25:3 - Forty stripes may be given him, but not more, lest, if one should go on to beat him with more stripes than these, your brother be degraded in your sight.

2 Corinthians 11:24 - Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one.

John 19:1 - Then Pilate took Jesus and flogged him.

Mark 15:15 - So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

However, the Romans had no limit to the number of lashes they gave a victim, and the scourging Jesus experienced was at the hands of the Romans, not Jews, it is entirely possible that He received even more than 40 lashes across his body. In fact, if you consider the explosive rage the Jews felt for Jesus that day, it is likely he received many more than 40 lashes."

That being said, Jesus was beaten over 39 times by the Roman scourge, specifically with the "cat of nine tails", meaning one strike was nine hits at once. Therefore, if we were going by the Jewish law of only lashing 39 times because 40 would kill a person, then Jesus was actually lashed 351 times.

Isaiah 52:14 states, "As many were astonished at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of man". Meaning Jesus's physical body was marred literally beyond recognition. Basically, his body would have appeared like bloody hamburger meat. Keep in mind, this was all before the crucifixion and carrying the ridged wooden 100-300 pound cross up a mile and a half mountain. Then, later having his wrist and ankles nailed with 7-9 inch long heavy iron nails, that were 1 inch thick.

Matthew 27: 26 - "Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters, and they gathered the whole battalion before him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they spit on him and took the reed and struck him on the head. And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes on him and led him away to crucify him."

The word 'put upon' in this verse is the Greek word "epitithemi" ep-ee-tith'-ay-mee: to impose (in a friendly or hostile sense). Which means they forcibly jammed the thorns into Jesus's head. The thorns were so long, they would have struck and dragged across Jesus's skull as they shoved it on his head. Now his head would be profusely bleeding.

1 Peter 2:24 - By His stripes, you are healed.

The word 'stripes' in this scripture is the Greek word 'molops'. Which means a full-body bruise; a terrible lashing that draws blood and that produces discoloration and swelling of the entire body. Peter was speaking by memory because he was there.

Second, the word 'healed' in this text is the Greek word 'iaomai'. This is a word that refers to physical healing; borrowed from the medical world to describe the physical healing or curing of the human body. It always describes physical healing.

Jesus endured all of this to pay the price for my healing and for your healing. Jesus endured all of that so you could overcome depressing, suicidal thoughts, diseases, broken body parts, and the list goes on. This is also why Isaiah 53:5 says, "But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds, we are healed."

What Jesus's body really would have resembled after being scourged.
The Thoughts and Ideas Behind Sketch 3
For the reference of the woman, I was going to use the first sketch drawing to represent that Jesus already paid everything in full for us. For the second image, I was going to use this as a censored freedom of speech and religion poster inspiration.
Next, my inspiration for these vintage posters was the rejection of the forced Covid 19 Vaccine. I wanted to incorporate the agenda behind the vaccine and the research. I was specifically going to go into more detail using the two vintage posters with the curtain because they represent the perfect irony of the agenda labeled to help us and protect our neighbor. It should also be noted that covid was made for the vaccine, not the other way around.
The Thoughts and Ideas Behind Sketch 4
In my fourth sketch, I gave symbolisms of what the true agenda of the vaccine is, illustrated behind the curtains, which is to become a totalitarian and socialistic world. They will contribute to this by pushing for population control, or genocide, which will be under the label of "overpopulation" and, or "climate change".

Then, there will be a one-world digital currency cashless society, meaning no more use of physical cash, credit cards, etc. These will be available to be implanted into the hand or forehead -- which is already happening now with Tesla technology, amazon, and other companies.

Next, there will be a one-world religion. Meaning everyone will worship the 'same god', but not the God of the Bible. I will provide scripture for this and resources for the rest in the next few paragraphs.

At this point, some of you may have already stopped reading; think I am crazy, and it's all a 'conspiracy' theory; or some of you noticed the same signs of this as well. As promised, I will provide the scriptures to back these statements up and the research for you all to explore on your own and not just take my word for it.

One World Religion
I want to start with the one world religion statement first. We, Christians, know this is deceptive because God says repeatedly in scripture that we shall serve no other gods, but Him.

Isaiah 45:5 - I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me,

Isaiah 45: 21 - Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me.

Exodus 20:3 - “You shall have no other gods before me.

Acts 4:21 - And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Romans 16:17 - I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6 - For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”— yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

1 John 5:10-12 - Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Matthew 4:10 - Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’”

1 Timothy 2:5 - For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Deuteronomy 4:35 - To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him.

Isaiah 43:10-11 - “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.

John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

John 3:18 -  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 5:23 - That all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 8: 42-47 - Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but He sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”

Matthew 11:27 - All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Deuteronomy 32:37-39
Then he will say, ‘Where are their gods,
the rock in which they took refuge,
who ate the fat of their sacrifices
and drank the wine of their drink offering?
Let them rise up and help you;
    let them be your protection!
“‘See now that I, even I, am he,
    and there is no god beside me;
I kill and I make alive;
    I wound and I heal;
and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.

And many more, these were just a very small few to give examples.

The god of This World
With all of that stated, we learn a few things. One, there is only one God and He makes it very clear of that. Two, the other religions outside of Christianity that are not serving Jesus Christ as their Lord, they are not serving the God of the Bible. Jesus and God are the same person. He states that many times in scripture as well. So when the world is saying that we are all serving the same god such as Buddha, Muhammad, the universe, ourselves, etc ( in other words - COEXIST symbol), this is all false. However, they are correct on one thing, all of those in agreement with one religion, are indeed, serving a god, which is the god of this earth, also known as Satan.

2 Corinthians  4:3-4 - And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

1 John 5:19 - We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Ephesians 2:2 - In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—

John 18:36 - Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”

Revelation 12:9 - And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

John 8:44 - You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 2:15-17 - Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

Next, I will discuss the rest of the paragraph listed behind the world agenda. As promised, I said I would provide scripture. God's word provides many prophecies, many that have already come to pass and a few more on the horizon.

Why do I keep Quoting Scriptures From The Bible?

I provide scripture because it is literally inspired by God through the holy spirit. The Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit and contains the words of God’s self-revelation about Himself. This is why we can trust the Bible to teach us the truth about God and His plan for our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 20-21 - Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 - And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

2 Peter 3:14- 15 - And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.

Matthew 10:20 - For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Luke 12:12 - For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

John 14:26 - But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

John 16:13 - When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

1 John 4:1 - Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Jeremiah 36:2 - Take a scroll and write on it all the words which I have spoken to you concerning Israel and concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

Bible Prophecies About the Not-to-Distant Future

Now, let us get into the coming prophecies. God told us what is to come in the following scriptures:
Matthew 24
Daniel 12:1-13
Ezekiel 38-39
Revelation 19-22 (New Earth and new heaven)

Since these are full chapters, I've made them hyperlinks so that you can read them in another tab.

Fox News political cartoon of the day, “The Devil is in the Details”

My Final decision
After receiving feedback from my teacher, I concluded with the top right sketch. I, then, went to find images that I would take into Photoshop and mask together to create the image I needed. I choose the first lady for her posing perspective. I needed a 3/4 perspective portrait.

Then, I needed to change the expression in her eyes, so my professor helped me find the perfect reference image, which is the second image below. I needed the eyes to show the expression of 'caught off guard or surprised.

Next, I switched her hair to be curly because I wanted it to be a representation of African American women like myself. The illustration I wanted to show needed to be relatable and different. After that was completed, I masked the arm of the man to cover the first visual reference's mouth. Lastly, I combined the torso of the last reference image because I needed the 3/4 perspective of a woman holding a book.
The Reference Images For The Final Poster Design
After finding the reference images I needed to create my vision, I, then, took them in to photoshop and began to mask out the parts of the images that I did not need, and begin to create the visual of my sketch.

Final Concluding Thoughts
This project is special to me because it represents what I am passionate about and the bible prophecy that is coming to pass as we speak. We get a bad rep as Christians -- we are mislabeled as doom and gloom, preachers of hate, homophobic, and the list goes on, due to some bad apples they have been introduced to. The motto is to hate the sin, not the sinner.

However, Christian hate is expected because we are not to be like everyone else, we are to be the light in the darkness; the salt of the earth. As stated at the beginning of this post in Matthew 5:2-16 and John 15:18-21, Jesus clearly stated that if they hated him, the world would hate us too because we are not greater than our master - God himself. All we want to do is love others by getting them the good news of the one-way ticket to Heaven; Especially now more than ever because Jesus is closer than anybody could even begin to expect.

I've learned that people do not understand the purpose of Jesus dying on the cross and why it was and is so significant. I, too, was in that same boat, I understood He died for me and paid the price for my sin, but I did not comprehend what that meant. I didn't understand what I was accused of being guilty of, until now.

After I came across 'Living Waters, Ray Comfort', I finally understood why the good news was phenomenal news! It was as if a light bulb went off and everything made sense. So with that being said, I will do my best to explain to help you comprehend and understand.

For starters, the Bible is supernatural in origin. Therefore take heed to its promise of Heaven and warning of Hell. There are some qualifications to enter Heaven, such as the moral law:
- have you ever told a lie before? - liar
- Have you stolen something? - thief
- Have you ever used God’s name in vain? - blasphemy
- Have you ever hated somebody? - murder
- Looked at a person with lust? (Or watched porn) - adulterer at heart
- Have you had sex before marriage? - fornicator
- Made up a god instead of believing in the God of the Bible - broke the first commandment - have no other idol above God - an idolater

So let's start by asking this, are you a good person? Have you ever lied (Even once -- fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything -- the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart" - Matthew 5:28. Have you ever looked with lust? Have you ever used God's name to curse (OMG, Jesus *** Christ, etc.)? That is called blasphemy. "The Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain." - Exodus 20:7

If you have said "Yes" to these four questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, blaspheming, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at four of the ten commandments. That's how God sees you. Nothing is hidden from His holy eyes. In the day of Judgement, If God judged you on the 10 commandments but only looked at 4, would you be innocent or guilty? You would be guilty just like the rest of us!

Besides, even if you sin just five times a day, in one year, that is 1,825 sins! If you live to be seventy, you will have broken God's law over 127,000 times! You'll have to answer for every sin on Judgment Day, When "each of us shall give an account of himself to God." - Romans 14:12. Do you know what the Bible says death is? The Bible says the wages of sin is death. So death is wages - like a salary. Since we broke God’s moral law, God is paying us in death. You may ask, but won't God just forgive me? Try that in court.

For example, a judge looks at a criminal who has murdered 3 girls, and he says,” No big deal judge, they were prostitutes, scums of the earth, I was doing society a favor". The judge says, “I am going to show you how serious this is. I’m giving you the death sentence. This is what I am paying you, this is your wages, this is what I am paying you.” Sin is so serious to a holy God that He is paying you in the death sentence. You’re on capital punishment.

Example 2, you say, "I know I keep breaking the law. But can't you just let it slide? Only a corrupt judge would do that. A good judge would say, "Justice demands that you pay for your crimes". God is a holy righteous judge. He hates sin! Jesus warned that God in His wrath, will cast all who sin against him into eternal fire where "There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth"- Matthew 13:42. Now you ask, "Then how can anyone get to heaven? There's only one way... if a sinless person offered to take your punishment, then justice would be served and you could go free.

Example 3, you have to face God on judgment day paid in fullness like being in court and having a stack of speeding fines that you’re guilty of breaking the law. Someone steps in and pays those fines the judge says,” Well, you’re guilty, but you can go. Someone’s paid these fines.” A judge could legally let you go if someone paid your fines even though you’re guilty. This is the same thing God did for you and me.

“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment of the world. Know most everybody knows that, but they don’t know this. As Ray Comfort says, “If you can get a grip of this, it’s going to change everything for you!” The 10 commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke the law, Jesus paid the fine. That’s what happened on the Cross! That’s why He said, “It is finished.” Just before he died. He was saying the debt has been paid.

If you’re in court, and someone pays your speeding fines, the judge will let you go, even though you are guilty. “Oh somebody paid these fines even though you’re guilty. You’re free to go.” You walk because somebody paid your fine.

Well, God can legally let you live forever all because Jesus paid your fines in His life’s blood, rose again on the 3rd day, and defeated death, and all you have to do to find everlasting life is confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

After we went through four out of the ten commandments, will you be innocent or guilty on the day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. Some of you may read this and say, “I don’t care”, “It doesn’t matter because I don’t believe in that.” but you don’t realize this, but I love you , and I care about you. I care about where you spend eternity. I don’t want you to go to hell, and unbelief doesn’t change realities.

If you stand in court, and you’re guilty of a terrible crime, and you say, “Judge, I don’t believe in the electric chair. I don’t believe in that”, It’s not going to change realities, they’re going to still take you away to the electric chair and kill you, and what you believe doesn’t matter. God is just and holy and gave you a conscious, you know right from wrong. When you’ve done wrong, you did it with the knowledge that it’s wrong. Conscious means with- con and scious- knowledge. On that day, you’re going to be without excuse, and that horrifies me! I do not want you to go to hell! Every time you sin, you’re storing up God’s wrath and making it worse.

That's not God's will. God loves sinners so much, that He provided a way for you to be forgiven. He sent His only Son to take your punishment: "God commanded His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death; “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." He is your "ticket" to Heaven. He is the "way", He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name. John 14:6: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

If you aren’t saved, now would be the time! Today is the day, do not wait. You are not guaranteed tomorrow. Salvation is God’s free gift through Jesus to save you for eternity! Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. You can't earn eternal life -- not by good deeds, being nice, etc. It is God's gift to all who humble themselves and trust in Jesus. Have "Repentance toward God and Faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21). He will forgive your sins and give you a new heart! "If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Pray something like this: "Dear God, I repent of all of my sins (name them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  Please forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen." Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read ( see John 14:21). God will never let you down. Find a good church to help you grow.

2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Here is more good news, once you are saved under Jesus, God will keep you from His wrath when He comes again. He says so in the following scriptures:

Romans 5:6-11 - For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 - For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

(Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 6:23, and more.)

Here are even more exciting promises from God! He is coming back for those believers who are alive and those who passed away, and we will see them again! The following scriptures are some of my most favorite passages in His word. It gives me hope and encouragement to see my loved ones again-- I miss my nana dearly and I can't wait to see her and the rest of my family up there in their new glorified bodies and no longer suffering down here.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 - But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-7 - Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52: Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The coming great apostasy:

In conclusion, with all of this being said, I hope you will give all that was discussed in this post a thought and reconsider where you would like to spend eternity, and now feel encouraged, empowered, and free.

Once, you've finally got a grip on this, go and tell others THE GOOD NEWS! We want to see you all in Heaven! Don't you know God has prepared a mansion and everything for you? He says so in John 14: 1-4, "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know". This is just one of the many promises God guarantees His believers will receive. Dig in His word and search for the rest and more!

For those who enjoy audiobooks, this is the app I use whenever I am driving or working, but still want to read or listen to the word. It’s an audiobook of the Bible. I listen to the ES version. I love that it reads it basically like a movie - dramatic and all! It’s great! My friends and family love it!

God and the Bible are the only survival guides you will need for the rest of your life.

After class critique, the concluding visual is my final result. I am very satisfied with how it turned out! I learned so much with this course in such a short amount of time-- Thanks to my incredible professor Rebecca Bilbrey! I learned how to utilize gradients, shapes, less is more, and so much more. I am happy that I can apply my new skills to benefit others and myself. I went from barely remembering how to use Illustrator, to making art pieces! I can now branch out from photography into different visual communication fields.

I hope you guys were inspired to go and create after viewing and learning some new information. I look forward to seeing you guys in the next post and Heaven!
