Project: Vladyslav Bobuskyi
Location: Columbus, Indiana
Year: Fall 2021
Every year Columbus is hosting various events, one of them happens to be a Farmer's Market. Such rituals are essential in the process of building a healthy community. For this reason, decision was made to create a pavilion that would serve as a multifunctional public space and in the meanwhile would provide adequate shading as well as rain protection. Featured Urban Canopy project explores various ways to maintain a balance between the civic scale of the urban grid and the structure. Another key point is to invite organic and highly unusual shapes into the city of Columbus. Monumentality of the volume plays a crucial role in the overall design. It helped to reach a presence of the strong community attraction towards the wooden canopy.
