Tofino through a better lens

Located on the western side of Vancouver Island, Tofino is known to be a surf capital of Canada with it's unmatched beauty, unique roots and culture. The town and culture is a wonderful sight to see with it's unique roots and stores, but unfortunately we were unable to visit due to time management. Instead, we visited the iconic Cox bay beach, where some of us did a big hike to witness amazing views, while others looked at the rocks. Following this, we took a trip for lunch down to the main area which consisted of Wildside Grill, Tacofino and Chocofino. (Unfortunately no pictures) After eating some really good food and ice cream, the class settled for a trip down to South Chesterman beach, where we explored caves and the beach. Our next stop was to Long Beach, which is a long beach btw, where we took photos of the scenery. The last stop on our journey in Tofino was at the hidden gem known as the Bog Trail. There we did a loop of the swampy area, which the ground felt weird and almost squishy.
First stop, Cox Bay Beach. For some context, I have travelled to Tofino multiple times to visit this beach, but to surf and not be a "tourist." After visiting the beach without surfing, which should've been a possibility, I now know that people come to this beach not just to surf. With the first step onto the beach, we are greeted with the beautiful scenery of the ocean and some people learning how to surf. We then take a moment to acknowledge half the squad (sorry to the rest) before the journey up the mountain. Looking at middle aged man, the look on his face shows signs of readiness to conquer the hike. The hike looked to be small from a far standpoint, but closeup, this looked impossible. (Not really) During the hike, we ran into a few problems, like getting lost the first time up. (Thanks Mr P) Although the hike is long, filled with mud or maybe boring, the views we saw were amazing and I would definitely recommend trying it. After conquering second to Mount Everest, the group is thrilled that the adventure was over.
After eating some amazing chicken strips and fries at Wildside, we visit a beach i've never been called South Chesterman, which I found the views quite nice. Before our trip, all I heard about South Chesterman is that theres sea caves and an Island to walk out to. Burnt-out by the hike, I didn't get the opportunity to walk out to the island and the tide was also coming in. I managed to see some well-worth views at the place and even found some cool glasses. If i'm being honest, this place wasn't my favourite, but if you like to see something different, such as sea caves, or wanting something to fill the time, then I would recommend visiting here.
With only one more stop to go, we decide to stop at Long Beach as it was on the way to the final destination. At long beach, we explored all the way down to the cool trees. The beach is very nice and clean, however going for a small walk on the beach might not be the best place for that. The views were similar to the other beaches, but still fun to see and explore. Long Beach is also known to have good waves to surf. If you're going to explore the beach, I would recommend visiting here if you have patience and a lot of energy.
The final stop on our Tofino trip, Mr P decided to show us a hidden gem in Tofino that isn't very well-known. Considering this place is hidden, it was absolutely amazing. The trails and the atmosphere made you feel like you were on an african safari. The wooden trails was a great touch, although it does need some repairs because there were a decent amount of holes. This is a great place to go on a small walk outside with a friend. The distance is reasonable but it was tiring as we were ending our trip. This place was also filmed in a famous movie. (I believe Avatar) Even though I didn't include many pictures, this place is definitely worth to check out and explore.
Overall my experience in Tofino was awesome. The blog captures Tofino through a better lens. I got to enjoy a day out of school with my friends, taking pictures of the wonderful scenery and culture of Tofino. The highlight was definitely the food and hike, even though the hike was tiring and muddy. I am really grateful that I was able to participate in this trip, even though surfing was off the table.
