Toyota Prius | Key Fob Design

The coveted CAR DESIGN AWARD announced recently the top car design nominations in the categories CONCEPT CARS and PRODUCTION CARS for 2023.

The challenge is to design a key fob for one nominated car from the categories Concept Cars or Production Cars.
The car I chose is from the Production Cars category, the Toyota Prius. The Toyota Prius is a mid-sized car, initially built as a four-door sedan car up until 2003. Since 2003, it has been produced as a five-door liftback as it has a sloping roof similar to hatchback cars. Prius is a Latin word meaning “first”, “original”, “superior” or “to go before”. The Prius in the picture shows a very sleek car design that is almost perfectly streamlined, which symbolizes speed as well as a modernized version of the original Prius.
Design Language Analysis
The transition lines as shown in the pictures below are sharp and almost sudden, however, they do complement the smooth curves of the design of the car as a whole.
On the other hand, there are also extremely seamless transitions at the back of the car as shown in the picture above.
3D Modeling using Rhino 7.0
Final Outcome
First time experimenting with animation using KeyShot.
