Catalyst: Warner Brothers Project

BRIEF
Catalyst came to me with an exciting brief which was given to them by Warner Brothers. Catalyst are a design agency that work with a range of different brands, that they help to bring various products to life. The brief they were given by Warner Brothers was to use an existing IP from any of the amazing worlds that the company has brought to life, however I had to focus on just one character. With that one character I would then have to bring a unique product to life which could be sold at retail in stores.

WHAT DID I DO?
I decided to use the Warner Brothers character known as Aquaman, who is known from the DC Universe and decided to create a fish finger brand for children. The insight and reason behind this was because I found that over 40% of children are not eating enough fish in the world, due to the lack of advertisement and encouragement. This is a big problem because it can have serious impacts on ones health if it is not eaten.
I also saw another opportunity to introduce a character to children, due to the fact that not many children have heard of Aquaman being that he has not made the jump into children's content yet (Such as TV or shows).

OUTCOMES
For my outcomes I would create a new packaging for the fish fingers, but creating something unique and having the packaging be made out of cardboard. I thought that this would also promote the morals of the character due to the fact that he is quoted as 'Protector of the seas', so I thought making the product eco - friendly would make sense being that he would want to protect the oceans from waste. As well as encouraging children to think about waste and promote cleaner oceans. Each packaging would come with a Aquaman figure, however there would be a chase (Limited edition 500 piece figure), which has him wearing his new stealth suit (Blue). I would market this through posters, promoting the health benefits to parents who would then buy this product for their children.
