CIX Discography - Logo Designs

This project showcases logos made for CIX's title tracks of each album from their Korean discography. Using references to the music videos, lyrics, and concept photos. With each logo, I created an example of the logo being used in a lyric poster.

Since Movie Star is CIX's debut title track and MV, I wanted to establish elements that would showcase that they are a 5-member group and also show the concept of the debut. Instead of going the traditional route of including film/movie related things, I gave more focus to the concept and feel of the song. Using a contrasting serif, I wanted to highlight the mature concept and since the music video uses a lot of lights, I used that as a reference in adding the extending stars in the logo.
SPACE
Since the song is about the hardships of high school students, and the visuals of the music video are deconstructions of the building, I used that as the main inspiration of the logo.
SPACE
In the music video, each of the members are trying to escape their own situations but seeing there's no way out. I represented that feeling with the chains that were used in the music video.

CIX's comeback takes a turn for the better with "Cinema" in the last chapter of this era. The music video and song showcase a happy and care-free time. Choosing to stick with the storyline, I chose to reference the VHS tape used. But I also referenced the movie theater setting that was shown throughout the music video with the typeface.
SPACE
Wave was the beginning of a new era. The music video is full of good and worry-free feelings. Since the music video's main story is about a journey on a ship, I wanted to showcase that with a big wave and a little boat.
SPACE
With a more darker music video, the visuals showcase the members with white or black angel wings, while one member is shown with butterflies. To further the storyline of the music videos, I wanted to include the angel wings and butterfly wings in the logo. Since the members are shown wearing racing outfits and the song references to cars, I used a typeface that emulated that style.
SPACE
Save me, Kill Me is the last title track of the series of "OK" albums. The music video's story is a continuation of the "Numb" music video, showing more of the character's connections to each other. Since at the end of the music video it is left unknown if the main character will make it through, I used that as a reference for the logo. The lyrics' main theme is about if they should be saved or killed.
This project is not affiliated with any artists or company shown in the design and was made as a passion project.
