CF Napa Launches Ohana Reserve for Maui’s Waikulu Distillery
Following the launch of their distillery and premium agave spirit, Maui-based Waikulu Distillery returned to CF Napa to design the packaging for their new spirit – Ohana Reserve. The exceptional agave spirit was to launch as an unaged product with an aged version soon to follow. The design needed to continue the authentic Hawaiian sensibility and traditional tequila inspiration of the original packaging while communicating the elevated quality of the new offering.
The design for the Ohana Reserve utilizes a custom bottle designed by CF Napa. The variable pebble texture provided a handblown glass effect, reminiscent of the specialty bottles used by luxury tequila producers.
The teal gradient in the glass transports the imbiber to the tropical oceans that surround the island of Maui where the distillery is located and was complemented by a metallic blue foil stamping for the icon.
The black label gave a gravitas to the package, creating clear differentiation from the core spirit’s cream label and a cue to the super premium quality of Ohana Reserve.
