Logo Semiotics

The fictitious supermarket logo was born out of my desire to make a poster that was as authentic as possible. The logo is developed along the lines of a vintage style. The semiotics of the logo icon denotes a can of a typical canned food, which is illuminated, emphasising its importance, by rays of light, typical of an antique logo.
Creative and Innovative strategy

The desire to create a promotional post arose from the idea of raising awareness of an important issue such as the preservation of culture in an ironic and entertaining way. What I avoided, therefore, was to create an obvious solution that was already seen and reviewed. The nature of a promotion is an explosive one that draws attention with specific colours and strong typography. My solution therefore comes close to this style but according to vintage guidelines, i.e. use of desaturated colours and a variety of typefaces.

Semiotics

The semiotics of my solution focus on the juxtaposition of objects, colours and typography familiar to my audience for immediate recognition. The subjects of the poster are typical canned foods that would be found in any supermarket, the labels were developed in such a way as to draw attention to their juxtaposition of colours and contrast. For this reason, the background was deliberately left with neutral colours to focus attention on the subjects. The call-to-action on the bottom requires both a physical and digital gesture from the audience. The lower part is in fact made of magnetic and tear-off material, the shapes of which denote the coupons and admission tickets typical of the past. The experience of this poster is therefore not only visual but also sensory.
