Walking in Wakefield

Photography feels like the only time I see the world and pay attention what is going on around me. I am always zoning out. Yet with a camera I feel fully focused on every shape, shadow, and texture. I find colour distracting, so I prefer to work in black and white. I am drawn to textures of erosion and empty spaces. Capturing the time between human presence. Silence between events. The calmness and quietness of not having any people in sight, yet it is comforting to see signs of life nearby. My inspiration comes from walks. I like how unpredictable findings can be. There’s a curiosity to explore and discover.
