Hi everyone, it's Baha! I wanted to share some parts of the official music video of "HVPPY DEVTH - Song to the Siren" with you. I worked on it for over 2 months and I digitally painted over 1k frames.
HVPPY DEVTH is a collaboration of Negative Gain artists and beyond. Inspired by 4AD and This Mortal Coil, HVPPY DEVTH is following the dream of artistic imagination with no boundaries and limitless perspectives. Starting with a cover of Song to the Siren, this collaboration featuring Bahadir Demiralay, me, (Vocals, Roger Jarvis – Kevorkian Death Cycle, HexRx (Production, Song Writing, Programming, Nabil Kassem – Gentleman Junkie, Kevorkian Death Cycle (Production, Song Writing, Programming, Mixing and Rob Robinson – Order of the Static Temple, Kevorkian Death Cycle (Mastering is the beginning of a multitude of releases from some of the best dark electronic artists in the world.
As one of the singers of HVPPY DEVTH and the director and illustrator of the music video I can say that to me, Song to the Siren means so many things because it’s beautifully written and it reflects how I generally feel. It’s a very complicated song in a beautiful way as Tim Buckley and Larry Beckett wrote it brilliantly. For so many years it inspired many artists and with our cover we wanted to make our own version but with the music video, I also wanted to show my appreciation of the other artists who inspired me and many others.
During the 2 months process of digitally painting over 1200 frames, it taught me that being an artist is commitment, hard work, love, passion and wisdom. It also reminded me of how wonderful working with other people and being inspired by them are as art would mean nothing without others.
Currently HVPPY DEVTH’S Song to the Siren has three versions, and you can find them on many platforms including Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer and Apple Music.Probe 7 Remix and the official remix of Song to the Siren's visualizers are available on YouTube as well.
