Biographies of beekeepers

Beekeeping has a special status in Cuba: it is not officially recognized as a profession, but, at the same time, honey is considered a product of high economic value for the country. A day in the life of two beekeepers, Willy and Pedro, reveals the complexities of practicing sustainable beekeeping in Cuba. Each one faces differently the problems imposed on them by the effects of climate change on the rainy and dry seasons, diseases and the destruction of ecosystems and the conditions imposed by the State to produce and market honey. The passion for the bee and its conservation has inspired them to find alternatives to move forward.
