Shy is a hand drawn typeface I created as part of my Major Project. Each letter was illustrated in pencil then scanned and traced in Adobe Illustrator.

 

The typeface resembles a lace alphabet. It represents shyness because lace is very delicate and is often used to cover or hide something but the holes in the pattern mean you can still see a little of what is beneath. Also, lace can often be used as a protective layer which represents the defence mechanisms shy people often put up to keep a distance between themselves and people who they are not comfortable around.
