PREVIEW REVIEWS:

"Trish is devoted to the art of Music Theater singing, at all levels of expertise. Her latest project serves advanced and pro-level Pop and Broadway singers, by providing singalong warmups and vocalises across a wider pitch range than most existing packages.  This innovative program, 'Trish Causey's Vocalises, Op. 1.0,' provides an accessible and realistic foundation for contemporary roles that go where classical warmups too often fear to tread. EXERCISES INCLUDE:

I created this series of vocal exercises because, as a singer myself, I always found it annoying to be sitting at the piano worrying about hitting the right keys when I should be standing, focusing on maintaining proper form to sing.

Also, as a vocal instructor, I’ve noticed over the years that many of my students didn’t have a way to practice at home because they either didn’t own a piano or didn’t know how to play one. I saw a need for my students to have their practice music be portable to have the exercises we go through in lessons available to them everyday… or when they traveled to their next competition or college audition, or even when they went on vacation.

I also received lots of emails from listeners of my radio show, Musical Theatre Talk, telling me that my show had inspired them to start singing again after years of being absent from performing. And I thought, these singers need vocal exercises, too.
If you’ve tried other CDs, you may have been frustrated that the exercises never went high enough OR low enough to work your full range. So please note that some of the titles of my exercises include modifiers such as “Extreme High” or “Extreme Low.”

That being said, I’ve tried to hit the highlights of what you need for functional training from working the articulators, the breath support system, even the resonators, while leaving you lots of room to apply your vocal needs to the exercises.

In a nutshell, I wrote these exercises for singers who have had training and know what to do just by reading the titles as well as the arrangement of the music itself. However, I have provided vocal demos and helpful hints in the liner notes. But feel free to use the exercises however you need to use them to achieve your goals.

And feel free to sing in your style. I hesitated to even record vocal demos because I don’t want you to mimic me – I’m a white girl with no rhythm and I know my place in Musical Theatre. :)  But having trained belters, rock singers, and even country bands, I also know my exercises can help you warm-up, increase your range, work your vocal dexterity, blend your registers, and work on performance style... or at the very least, provide you with some challenging scales to practice along with in between your lessons. So don’t let my nerd approach cramp your jazzy, sultry, or rock sensibilities.

Six (6) of the exercises use specific words, so I wrote these out for you on the insert so you can see the melody line as well as the lyrics.

Thanks so much for helping me get my creation out into the world!!!
