Full-scale visualization project for a complex of villas in Finland.

On this project, we honed our teamwork skills. Interior and exterior visualization were performed simultaneously.

Parts of the exterior scene served as a background for the interior scenes.
Parts of the interior scenes served as filling for exterior visualization when it was necessary to fill the space inside the rooms.

The client asked to present architecture in the scenery of two seasons: autumn and Lapland winter.

Chapter I.
Autumn

Mountains on the background were created using height-data appropriate for the location from the Google Earth with subsequent processing and refinement in Gaea

Fog with CoronaVolumeMtl. Сhimney smoke generated with EmberGen and imported as .vdb sequence.

One of the main characteristic features of the autumn landscape in that location is kuntta. In Finnish, this is the name of a lawn made up of a transplanted forest floor, consists of low-growing evergreen shrubbery: blueberry and lingonberry shrubs mostly.

The client's requests was to recreate it as accurately as possible.
Therefore, we tried to find as many different assets as possible to make the scattering preset look more natural.

94 pieces totally:

As a result, using the cluster distribution in the Forest Pack, we got a preset, which was subsequently used almost unchanged for all angles with the autumn environment.

The procedural CoronaSky map in Corona Renderer allows for very flexible adjustment of the position and shape of the clouds, which made it possible to almost completely abandon the use of  HDRI maps for most exterior shots.

For interior angles, we separately rendered environment maps in .exr format with masks for compositing with the sky.

The video below is an attempt to bring a static image to life for use in Instagram Stories, only compositing in DaVinci Fusion was used.

To create and detail the water surface with ripples, I used the techniques that I described on my Telegram channel in a separate video tutorial.
