Material Exploration | Plastic made of potatoes
This was a University project where we had to select trash from a natural origin and then try to generate a new material from it. With my partner in this project, we made a kind of plastic with the potatoes starch and glycerin that could be extruded at normal temperatures to make a flat surface.
We were able to produce a plastic film that allowed us to contain freezed potatoes products and see them trough it.
We use food colouring ink to make this film more attractive to the people. We took this macro photographies to know how it looked like and to know the density of the film.
In order not to lose the material that we had inked, we created a lamp with a colored screen.
