I was 1 of 8 lucky Italian descendants selected to attend a 2-week mosaic course at the world's best mosaic school in Spilimbergo, Italy.
During this course, I was introduced to the art and history of mosaic, and I was able to create my own mosaics using the traditional Roman technique, cutting each piece of marble and glass by hand using the traditional tool, the martellini (hammer).
This was my first attempt at mosaic.
