Secrets of an urban Forest

by Stefan F. Wirth

Urban forests are nothing else than forests. Like Velcro, the arms of the trees interlock amorphously and at the same time delicately, but relentlessly. This is how a forest becomes a forest.

In addition to its foliage, each tree carries a particularly heavy burden, namely the rich life of those others who dwell in and on the trees and dwell in their roots.

The forest organisms in all their abundance give life to the forest. And that life is always there, in the winter, in the dark, yet sometimes hidden from the energizing light of each day.
