The What  6 points
In the space below, provide a complete and accurate description of your artwork.

Imagine you are on the phone with your grandmother and you are describing the artwork to her. You want her to get “it”!
Be detailed and specific
Start from one side and explain each part of your artwork

My coiled vessel is brown with green leaves and vines with an addition of orange and pink flowers on the side. The inside is bright red to add contrast with the brown on the outside. The orange flowers also add a bright contrast to the brown.

The Why   7 points
In the space below, explain and defend your use of relevant elements of art and principles of design used in your work of art.  (line, shape, color, pattern, texture, form, balance, rhythm, movement, proportion, emphasis, variety, unity, space)
This is the place to describe and explain the deeper meaning, inspiration, and motivations in the piece of art.

I used contrast of colors to show the brightness of the bowl. I used to coils and smoothing to make the shape. I also used balance by using the elements of the flowers and vines across the top so it was balanced. My inspiration was to show the nature element and be inspired by tropical flowers.

The How  7 points
Use the space below to describe and explain the tools and materials used to create your work of art.  Imagine that you’re explaining this to someone who has never used these materials and methods.  Don’t undersell or underestimate your technical (next page…) and creative process!  Convince your audience (including the instructor) that you understand how you made your work of art from beginning to end

I first started with a slab of clay and formed the base of the bowl with a rolling pin and a needle tool to carve out the circular shape. I then started to form coils using the slip and scoring method to mold them to the base. After I finished the height of the bowl I started to add the flowers and vines across the top. Smoothing was also used by using the rib tool and sponge. I rolled the clay into lines to make the vines and twist them around each other. I added the flowers last and attatched them to the bowl.
