Process work - Miniature Stylization
My studio practice derived inspiration from the visuals of deterioration present within my home. The investigation stemmed from my photography studio, wherein I documented the sites that had visibly suffered neglect regarding care and maintenance. After situating the said spaces and objects within, I started exploring their visuals in relation to one another, in a singular frame, through miniature stylization drawings.
Historically recognized as a documental art form, miniature frames capture a sense of permanence. Thus, the stylized forms of architecture within these technical drawings aided in making a personalized archive of images wherein I brought together and attempted to make visible the neglect experienced by my home.
