"Dad, I'm Home"
Leafy Spurge Control animation
"Dad, I'm Home" is a 2D animation production that I made for my Integrative Capstone project in my second year. It is a project when designers collaborate with developers to deliver a practical creative solution for real clients who are in need of media support.
An invasive weed called leafy spurge has spread onto the premises of the North Hill campus and is accumulating. The weed is not only invasive but noxious. It is a threat to the environment and a threat to the economy. The weed harshly competes with several native species of plants which are more encouraging to pollinators. It also hinders livestock from grazing since it causes sores in their mouths. The weed has also been determined to cause irritation to human skin.
Our client is dealing with controlling the spread of this weed in the North Hill Campus. She needs assistance with educating the public about leafy spurge and how we can control its spread. Many people are not properly informed about leafy spurge, which accordingly results in them not taking necessary precautions, and eventually escalate the serious widespread spread of this weed with associated damage to the fields, farm animals, cause inconvenience in daily life and even economic loss.
