CHAPTER V. BEDROOM 2

My task was to create a concept design for the apartment based on the existing layout. Since we had disagreements with the client regarding certain design aspects, I will showcase both versions in my publications. One version is my vision and the other - approved by the client

OPTION 1 (MY VERSION OF DESIGN)

This bedroom has undergone numerous revisions by me. My main goal was to create a minimalist, modern and functional space. I didn't want to overwhelm the room with too many details. Simple forms, textures and materials - I aimed to make the room truly cozy, inviting one to stay for a long time.

Unlike the client's original version, I decided to go with carpet flooring for this bedroom. I believe it suits the Japanese style and ambiance perfectly. It's pleasant to take off your shoes here and feel the softness of every fiber in the carpet

I also added new ceiling-mounted curtains to create an illusion of a larger space. Behind the bed I installed a veneered wall that extends all the way to the wardrobe. As an accent, I placed a small art object in the middle.
I liked the TV wall design initially but I removed the shelves, plants, and other details that the client wanted to include there. For the bedding, I chose natural textures like linen and cotton.

OPTION 2 (CLIENT'S VERSION)

The client wanted more interior details in this room, vibrant accents, and a touch of disorder, as if someone already lived here and left a small mess behind.

Visualizations with open wardrobes were essential, as these wardrobes will be provided to buyers when they purchase the apartments. The client also insisted on having some greenery in the room. Personally, I prefer less cluttered spaces, but the client's vision was the priority, so I fulfilled this request.

Additionally, the client wanted to add shelves, and we placed Menu shelves on the wall to the left of the TV. The client is also a big fan of Al Pacino, so the TV displays a scene from one of his movies.

Which version do you prefer? The choice is yours. For me, expressing my design vision was crucial. It doesn't mean it's the right one, but demonstrating it was very important to me
