This is the jersey and two disc designs that I did for Madison Ultimate Frisbee Association (MUFA). I wanted to incorporate the capitol which is an important landmark to Madison, WI which happens to also be my hometown. The league is extremely popular during the summer with more than 5 leagues and 3,500 participants. For summer 2014, my designs will be on the discs and the jerseys that players get from registering for the league.
This is probably my highest profile design. Which means that many people will see them. The client wanted something that was simple. There were many restrictions on the disc designs which are printed directly onto the plastic. I had limitations such as only to use one color and not to use serifs. The jerseys had a two color minimum and had to stay a contained graphic. It was not a requirement to have the designs look like a set or series but I thought if the designs matched people would recognize MUFA better.
I was extremely excited for people to see those designs that summer and was proud of the work. Almost everyone I talked to liked the jersey design. They were printed on multiple different colored jerseys so the design was altered based on the shirt color.
