HIKARI. PENTHOUSE. MASTER BEDROOM

CHAPTER Iii. Penthouse. master bedroom
The master bedroom in the Penthouse boasts its own ensuite bathroom and is situated in the northeast corner.
The client placed particular emphasis on this room. My objective was to craft a space that exuded an atmospheric, comfortable, and incredibly cozy ambiance. The client stressed the importance of the space appearing vibrant and balanced, as if it were already inhabited. Remarkably, he approved the design for this room on the first attempt (and it was the only time)
In the Hikari project, every buyer receives a fully furnished kitchen, as well as ready-made closets and cabinets for the bedrooms and bathrooms. My task was not only to create visualizations but also to develop the design concept, furnish them with cozy furniture, and create an atmosphere. However, the most challenging part fell on my shoulders – the choice of all materials. From selecting the cabinet model from the manufacturer to choosing the hardware material.
For the room's design I took inspiration from Japanese culture to align with the project's main concept. Therefore, a plasterwork by talented Japanese artist Keisuke Noda will be created behind the bed. He was delighted to learn about the specific piece he would be creating in this bedroom. The artist often struggles with determining what to create for a particular interior, so I guided him to a certain extent.
The bed itself is designed as a single unit with nightstands giving it a minimalist and practical look. To further enhance the connection with Japanese culture I added a bench in front of the bed in the Japanese style by my favorites - Karimoku.

The bedroom boasts a spacious Sangiacomo wardrobe with copper metal accents. It was crucial to highlight the functional open closets, and the client consistently emphasized this. The buyer should grasp how to utilize the space and immediately feel at home. I also incorporated curtains to evoke a sense of airiness and motion in the room. They gracefully sway in the breeze, lending the space a lively and ethereal ambiance
To the left of the bed, there is a dressing table and a large floor-length mirror. I aimed to incorporate elements associated with femininity into the space. Often, this aspect is overlooked by many designers, failing to give it adequate attention. I endeavored to create the utmost comfort and meticulously considered every detail that would be significant to me as a resident of this house. Hence, I included numerous details in the project that embody "feminine energy."
I was also entrusted with the task of designing the bedside lamps. The client promised that these lamps would be crafted by a master and bear my signature. For their creation, I drew inspiration from Japanese calligraphy and developed a distinctive linear design. The lamps emit diffuse lighting to prevent glare and instead contribute to the overall cozy ambiance of the space
It was challenging to find artwork that would reflect the Hikari concept. My choice fell on the talented artist Takeo Yamaguchi, whose works will adorn the walls of the Penthouse. His pieces add a special atmosphere and symbolize Japanese traditions.
Hikari is truly a unique project. Even the door handles will be handmade. The sketches of these handles were provided by the exceptional artist Pierre Salagnac. He and his partner Eve George will create all the door handles for the penthouse.
The door handles depict a flower called "Beauty Under The Moon." It is incredibly beautiful and will be created in three variations, representing three different stages (closed, partially open and fully open). The "flower" unfolds as a person moves through the penthouse space.
Initially, upon entering the Penthouse hallway, the flower will be closed, but as one moves further, the flower will gradually open.
The handles will be made of bronze, and inside, there will be glass with veins reflecting the petals of this delightful flower. My colleague assisted me in creating 3D models of them
